What is the ASP's story? They brag about being a mobile contest but they don't move from Snapper. There have been good waves all over the Goldy but they keep potponing the comp. Get on with it guys

ive been thinking the same thing. there were a couple of days where burleigh would have been good for it.

i dont like surfing comps because they close off the good waves! what if kirra was pumpin and u wanted to surf the awesome once a year over 3+ barrel? won't happen!
oh well thats my two cents

If you saw the wave AI just caught in the quarters, you would understand! Watch and learn my friend

yeah they had a few heats at burlz last year..
i have no problem with the quik pro since 9 times out of 10 its at snapper which is going to have 100 people on it if its good anyway.. so let the pro's have it.. its good to watch some amazing surfing especially when you can stand almost right infront of the takeoff zone

Im hearin you craig. I watched heaps of heats, the quarters, semis and final all online thru the quiky web site. I wouldnt bother with the traffic, crowds and missing rides that go thru to Greeny. The net was all you needed. I think they had about 4 cameras picking up most of the action. It was hot. Slats, Lowey, Irons all smashing it off the top, and we got the scores before the commentators announced them. Who needs free to air with ads and restricted time when you can pump it world wide yourself for much less cost. You hear it all the time about companies wanting to take advantage of the internet, well I reckon quiky has done the best job Ive seen. I hope we can watch the rest of the comps with quiky and the other brands. Im hangin for Tahiti live from the PIT. How rad would that be. Maybe that has already been done and I wasnt watching, Im not sure ??

yep, it's been done before Booya - last year's coverage of Tahiti was mindblowing.. as was Fiji.. in realtime! You just have to get up at 3am to watch it.. that's the only bummer :)

i saw parts of the billabong web cast they did at snapper i think 2001 but wasnt really up to the standard of now. were the online productions last year as good as the quiky this year?

nah, last year wasn't quite as good - it's improving every time. However, it's a little harder at Tahiti, with everything being over the water - no crowd shots (except for the crew in the boats in the channel), and no interviews with the surfers immediately post heat. Still, watching Teahupoo in real time is pretty awesome.. all the lulls between sets.. the anticipation.. seeing which waves of the set they pick off. All the stuff that makes a good session, rather than the one epic photo that's suppossed to represent the entire day.

MORON!
I went to watch the quikie pro for the first time. Was good to see Slater, Irons, etc. No doubt they are sht hot surfers, but I don't think I'd go again. Actually found it a bit boring after an hour or so.

yeah i agree. i cant really go down there and sit there for a whole day like some people do. probably cause im a booger and dont really understand surfing as much as alot of other people do. most of my friends and people i surf with are surfers so i still know what alot of the things im seeing are called. later
