Anyone excited to see the pumping swell tomorrow? I wonder if this low up at sunny coast is going to turn into a cyclone.

I'm gonna paddle out tomorrow, but it'll be a hell of a day just paddling to keep in position. sweeps gonna be fierce!! oh well, ill also be going to see the quicky pro when i get tired from paddling.. im assuming many people are going to be disappointed tomorrow since they wont be able to surf kirra. i personally dont like comps because they hog the best waves on best days.

how much height can kirra hold? whats been the biggest ever swell at kirra?

my two cents.

hmmmm surf tomorro. if the winds really do hit whats expected which its looking like it might, there wont be much on offer in the morning when there is 100km winds blowing. and no i doubt that the low up north will turn into a cyclone. ive forgoten the name for these types of lows.... well anyway its pretty much the step befor a cyclone. i wish the surf would all just clean out so we could just have something nice just pealing off the points and MABEY even the bombie working so i could take to it with a few toe ins.

to your other question, kirra can handle pretty much anything that gets thrown at it on the coast, ONLY if the swell in the right direction and its clean. the bigest day ive ever seen kirra was about 2-3 years ago i think it was around july when we had that SOLID 3m swell that was mega clean. kirra was off the hook!

i have heard something that the points are going to be relativly huge, like 4 - 5 meters, whether or not it happens or not is anyones guess, but like on the news they said all surfers should stay out, if so im paddling out :)

Tropical depression or is it tropical storm before cyclone, something like that anyway.

Where abouts exactly is the bombie is it out front of the seaway and can you paddle on out there or do you have to always get tow-ins?

With northerly winds following after the low moves through tomorrow where would the best place to go be? Assuming its still too big for the beachies

They recon 4-5m sea swell so it wont be that big on the beaches.

Was this the biggest you have seen?

i cant look at that link im not a member.
the swell should be about 10ft today so if that happens, the only places that will handle it will be snapper/rainbow/Kirra end which are the quickie pro, but otherwise mabey the alley might be working. its to big and windy for any beachie so try there. later and hope u find some juice,

i wonder if this 14m wave helped gold coast at all.. taking some sand back out to sea? cuz there was too much sand in the southern points/beachies.

any thoughts?

yeah i was hoping that the massive swell would of moved a bit of the sand around. thats what the coast needed was a cyclone type swell to move all the huge amounts of sand down sth and push it up the coast a bit. now we just sit here and watch again while the council pumps more sand straight back onto it. gotta love that, later
