Yeah my mate rang me this morning at 6:30am and said from Snapper through to Kirra was just one big washing machine with an intense sweep. He asked what Byron would be doing and ended up surfing down there although he said the Pass is no longer (ie no sand left). He then heard reports around mid morning that Kirra was starting to turn it on so he then hightailed it back there. Haven't heard from him since then to find out what Kirra was like. I'm worried now that the banks along the entire coast may be stuffed (or should I say more stuffed than what they were, partic north of Burleigh) after this stormy surf subsides......boohooo....let's hope that's not the case, but in the past, after a big storm swell like this one, the beachies have just been one massive storm bar about 200m offshore along the entire stretch of coastline. Will wait and see on Tuesday then!!!
Actually I just checked the Snapper cam and how much sand has moved offshore and northwards there. Once again, there's multiple breaks all not linking up now. Even Kirra has some sand deposited out off the groyne way out the back now causing the waves to spill before hitting the inner bank. I would imagine the Alley and to a lesser extent Burlz have also lost alot of sand which has re-deposited further NEwards from the points.
i drove past the alley on the way home and it was fucking cooking from the 10 second glimpse i got going over the bridge
Just got back from 2 days in Noosa. 3-5ft yesterday (a few bigger bomb sets).
I have a smashed knee from some kook throwing his board at me as I was racing a section at boiling pot.
Another 5 star retard let go of his board right in front of me as a 4ft wave rolled through. Massive gash in my 6.4".
However, we did score some great waves particularly yesterday.
it reckon it was the biggest its been all week down at snapper this arvo. such a mission getting out
