Anyone get amongst the lines of swell this morning before that devil wind arrived late morning? Conditions looked prime early this morning along both coasts. Kirra looked to have some nice bank formations too.

i scoped Burleigh around 5.45 and it was pumping..........took the gamble that snapper would be on fire and it sure as hell was.........early between 6.15 and when i got out at around 9 it was just cranking..............major sweep happening which kept the line up thin...........lets hope it angs around for as long as we havent had any waves:twisted:

Sunshine Coast Daily Surf Report

Surf: clean 5-6ft
Wind: light W
Weather: fine and sunny
Dawn Patrol: Finally we have some swell!!! There is about 5-6 foot at the moment and there is a chance o it building a little more as the tide comes up. At the moment there is a light off shore wind, but we are expecting a strong south easterly by this afternoon.

This morning wurtulla was around 2-3. Then it got bigger

Hmmmm, not sure why it picked up later in the morning....perhaps tidally dependent? Wave buoys (http://www.epa.qld.gov.au/projects/waves/site_param.cgi?siteid=4&paramid=1&noback=2) show very little change in swell heights for most of the morning on the SC. I'll grant there was a marginal change in swell period from 6am til lunchtime, but that's about it on the bouys?? Strange one.

Whilst Wurtulla was heaps fun this morning I don't reckon it was as good as yesterday. The banks seem to had lost a bit of shape and some of the waves were a little straight. Definitely bigger this morning though but not as clean.
Last two days have renewed my faith in chasing waves.

Just to let you guys know, I've made a deal with my boss (the beautiful one that is) that I have a 9:30pm curfew on the computer at home. It was a deal I made so that she'd let me take the position on Swellnet. So if you're asking questions after then, I wont be responding til the morning.

My suggestion for the rest of the week is to find the most protected point ya can cause these winds don't look like dieing for sometime yet.

on the same subject gary. met a fair few young crew from perth when I was in bali. Was obvious who did the drugs on weekends. I was up north of the rocks cause it was good the arvo before. Sadly had to bail for work at 7:30 only just made it to. But by the look of SCB's shots should have just called in sick again. Im sure the girls could have handled a day without me.
