Yeah I surfed it by myself Thurs Morning but then had to bail for school. Groyne was picking up that swell so good for some reason. Hadn't really surfed there since I was a young fella then surfed it like 4 times in 3 days. That end section can still be an absolute carnt but.

haha groyneOh yeah, now that you mention it I can see Moreton in the background. Would never have thought any of that swell would have been getting in there. How bizarre?

it picks up heaps more south swell than other spots believe it or not

Yeah but how does it do that with Moreton out there? Perhaps Cape Moreton allows the swell to refract around it and line up with the Groyne, but you think this would apply to a fair bit of the coast north of the groyne as well??

i have no idea at all, but i have seen it so many times over the years on a full southerly swell be bigger than most other places on the southern end

Hmmmm....is it more wedgey in a S swell? If so, perhaps, just perhaps the S swell is bouncing off the Nth headland and thus pushing back and creating more wedgey waves in that part of the coast?? Can't really think of any other explanation for it actually??

Anything with a decent period groyne will normally pick up alright. Like a few weeks ago the whole coast was 1ft with a decent period and groyne still had fun little 2ft barrells. Well fun if your a booger anyway.
