Example One (http://wikimapia.org/#y=-26687343&x=153302879&z=12&l=0&m=a&v=2&show=/61217/)
Example Two (http://wikimapia.org/#y=-27932162&x=153433814&z=15&l=0&m=a&v=2&show=/4524365/)
These are not exactly secrets, but how long until the real gems start popping up on sites like this?
Personally I'd like to think other surfers would not post locations  maybe it was fkn fishos...
i have google earth and i have mapped out like the whole sth coast with the help of some mates but to do that you need to know where the locations are anyway.
that shit ur talking about is just gay

It's not like either of those two examples are "secret spots". Not even close. Every man and his dog on this forum talks about them all the time.
There are secret spots left on the east coast, just not in the populated centres. And I think anyone who loves the ocean would not divulge there secret spot on places like Google Map/Earth so I don't think we've got much to worry about at the moment. If a spot is indicated on these type of sites then it pretty much means that the general masses are aware of it and thus I doubt very much whether it would be deemed a "secret spot" anyway.
Just my opinion.

say goodbye to localism ??
if anyone gets hassled from locals at a 'secret spot', it will be up in a jiffy.

As a case for the NZ coast, iv used google earth to locate and map 2 reefs one right and one left that i knew existed but never knew how to get to b4, i found it very usefull tho it does kind of worry me how easy it was...maybe its just the way of the future tho.
ps. I would never make my shots from google earth or the mapping of it public tho, but if anyone took the same amount of time that i did and had some local knowledge it wouldnt be to hard.

bahhahaa someone posted a comment on the TOS map
"thanks buddy, me and all my kook friends from Logan bought some boogie boards and are going to hit TOS up regularily and clog the lineup, hooting and singing emo songs. sweet"
bahahaha
i here you boags, the search is the fun part, but it can be frustrating if you know where the place is but dont know how to get there. in that case a map can be handy
its even more frustrating trying to find a new place when you know somewhere else is coooking
