This is a bit odd. The Tweed and Southport Buoys are both showing a solid late increase in ESE/SE swell this afternoon, and with a period out to 14 seconds me thinks tomorrow morning should be absolutely cracking (assuming we don't see too much of decline overnight). Strange part is however, neither the Point Lookout or Mooloolaba Buoys are showing anything similar??
Ben, any thoughts on what this may be?

What size we talking chief?
i am interested to see how the goldy was the last two days as me and a mate good two days of absolutely pumping surf at ballina and yamba. lennox was 6 foot this arvy so surley the goldy should have something. although it really is a hole compared to that stretch past byron
easy 4ft+ well overhead on the bombs and cranking albeit a little inconsistant on low tide

Thought so based on the buoy readings. Was the swell still from the S, or more from the ESE. Buoys are indicating a switch to the ESE, but Roy's comment about regarding Lennox may be implying a S swell?? Still confused!!!

One word....crap.....TOS probably would have been the only good spot or alternatively The Spit. We checked from Main Beach down to Miami and ended up back at Mermaid. Swell was just too straight for the banks and low tide (closing out on the larger ones). And what the hell was with the wind from the N......huh???
Looks like Sunny coast was the better option and if it wasn't for my mate living on the south side I was going to head north.
Anyone hit up TOS?
Was the occasional 4ft set coming through and cleaning us up. Saw two freak set waves come through that were pitching as wide as they were high and reeled off down the bank for 50-60 metres.

Really? Swellnet pic (http://www.swellnet.com.au/loc_report.php?state_id=1®ion_id=18)looked fun as, and way cleaner than the Goldy!!! Smaller yes, but nice and glassy. Wurtulla would have had some fun ones. NATG, did you hit it up this morning?

mate couldn't beleive it, yesterday.....by 4:00pm the whole kawana stretch was a solid 3 foot, some blokes reckon they were getting stand up pits at wurtulla..............this morning (that it might be absolutely cranking), but it had backed off a bit, wurtulla was 2-3ft but super fun albeit a bit inconsistent.........

Morning looks like it will only have some small leftover S swell in the water and SW winds. Afternoon should see a further pulse of S swell, but by this stage it's highly likely winds will be moderate S/SSE.
So if it's a morning sesh, then I'd be searching south of the border for some extra size (3ft+), or if you're content for some smaller surf, then the usual Goldy SBs (2-3ft).

FARKIN CHAMP
absolute legend don
you need to set up a website and charge for it...
i'd def pay

I've asked that question before and the overwhelming response was not many people would pay, so you'd be in the minority for sure, but thanks for the offer anyway.
