How's the photog in the 3rd pic down (http://www.swellnet.com.au/sessions/Exposed_and_empty_120607.php). Impressive effort to get the shot with a lip like that bearing down on ya.

Who exactly discovered it? I was under the impression that it was first surfed by bodysurfers in the 1960's (read it in a mag a while back - think it was a quote from Occy - will see if I can find it).

holy shit.
i was always under the impression that bodyboarders were the first ones to surf it.
other names are cape fear and deniros. it has been in bodyboarding videos/mags for atleast 10 years.
even the bra boys admit that they found it through watching a bodyboarding video. they admit it in their dvd in a tracks mag about 2 years ago called bastard child.

The place has been surfed way before ol'mate tom morey invented ya foamy things so don't be making those sorta calls. Cronulla locals have known about and surfed it (standup, kneelo's and of all things, body surfers!!) since the early seventy's.

doesn't seem to matter who found it... all the media hype around it over the last few years seems to say that the bra boys basically claimed it and they told the boogers to fk off elsewhere. knobbish behaviour, regardless of how you ride waves... lately i seem to only ever see shots of standups surfing it... are boog mags still running shots of it?
