I only had about 40 minutes to try and scratch into a few beachie slabs before I had to be in my cubicle-of-doom... i got 40 minutes of closeouts. at least you'll feel better until the good pics start pouring in!

I got to Wurtulla at about 8.30am, looked about 3-4ft, offshore and just slabs a plenty. Got the camera out of the car, went to turn it on.... nothing. Battery flat as a tack :(

Lucky I had my board there as a backup plan ;)

So there was still a sweep this morning then? Probably residual background SE swell still hovering causing that. That should be all but gone tomorrow I'd say.

Nah didnt surf it Dale, surfed wurtulla from dawn till around 8.30. was pretty fun, pretty inconsistant but hardly any crowd

northerly got up quick down the goldy.............i had a pretty sick session from 830 -12 down at fingal, super fun peaks just south of the pumping jetty, easily solid 4 foot, some bigger (? inconsistant easterly sets ?)

we surfed 6.30-9.30 and it was still blowin NW when we came in northy

i had a look at southern goldy (snapper etc) and it was fucked at 8:00, but the tweed coast was sick and offshore for ages, was starting to go a bit cross shore by the time i got out.

sounds like everywhere was good except nth straddie..thought it was going to be uncrowded perfect surf..however.
1. stopped at main beach.. it was super clean but breaking way too far out to even consider paddleing out..
2. walked over to the points.. 1-3ft of slop and blue bottles galore...

big dissapointment... would of been good with some ski assistance

spent most of the day just watching the beasts at main, and actually jumped in for 15 mins trying to catch the reforms.. no fun...

10 year anniversary tomorrow George. The wife said that my present (amongst a few others!!) is going to be that I can surf every morning whilst up the coast for the week. Only thing is though, I reckon she must have PM'd Huey and told him to turn the fan on, cause that's exactly what's in store for me up the sunny coast as of tomorrow afternoon. Boo hoo!!!!

heh, I'll try and lighten up ;) But yeah, mrs doesn't really veto a surf or a shoot... I'm 32 with a 3yr old son and a business, so I guess I don't get down to the beach as often as I'd like (but don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have it any othe way).

Thing that shat me off yesterday was that I was *finally* going to get to shoot Wurtulla without morning sun & from the water only to have a battery issue of all things. Had a great surf though so I guess I'm out of line for complaining.
