Hey all.

Just thought I'd say a quik hello..

I'm 22 y/o landscaper and I live in Toowoomba 2 hrs away.

Was down there about 2 months ago doing a weeks work and had a chance to get out and try surfing.. I love it (even tho I only got up 3 times in an hour)

Can't wait to get down there so I can be more regular..

how was it for everyone else on their first time??

3 times is not bad in an hour for a beginner.

The first time I tried surfing was on a foamy. I was stoked, so I hooked up a fibreglass winged keel surfboard. It smacked me in the head, broke my nose and I bled all over the beach. That was when I was about 10. With no one to push me back out in the water I pussied out of it. I didn’t get back into it till I was 15 and that’s when I got fully stoked off my first surfs. I only had a couple of surfs at Broadbeach before heading to Noosa for a weekend where a mate and me surfed for 7hrs each day on sunshine beach. We just couldn’t get ourselves out of the water. We ended up red raw with a couple of cuts and bruises from the fins but I will always remember that mission. The surf was only a 1-2ft shorey. I’m sure that the noosa trip, not to mention renting and watching all the Triple Crown Surfing movies from the movie store (Richard Cram, Shaun Thompson, Michael Ho) gave me the base to start smacking the lip.
