Biggest wave?????
The biggest wave in QLD was for sure last weekend in my toilet after having eaten at the local Thai restaurant in Brizzy.
Sorry, no pictures were taken, but the waves (set of three) were so massive that the toilet needed repair.

It was made during the year that Andy Irons won his first WCT crown. During the 2002 season.

this wasn't the biggest swell we've had by any strechTotally agree, however it would be up there with one of the biggest swells SE Qld has seen in August for a while.

yeah pretty unseasonal.................not complaining but maybe 40knots less wind would've been good so noosa wasn't the only option................but good all the same, heres hoping for an unseasonal spring with regards to swell!

I looked through BurleighCam's archive one time and found this monstrosity of a swell:

And on the note of BCam's archive, big thanks to Booya and CJ for keeping up the fine work. It's great to have such a detailed photographic history of Gold Coast swells which is so easily accessible.

Yea it really is good to look back at some of the better days gone by, and be able to make a comment without being told your just living in the past. We have had some absolutely epic waves on the goldie in days gone by.
I really wish i still had my collection of snaps taken from the earlier days of pretty much the whole goldie, as well as my travels around OZ and the rest of the globe. 2001, may have been good, but it in NO WAY was the best, nor the biggest the goldie has been. I just don't have the photographs to proove it. Any of the older guys here will remember some of the sessions i am referring to.
The coast has transformed so much over the years, that which bank was better, or which location held the better size, is now all just history. Time to move on, and just enjoy what we have now. If that means trips around OZ or overseas to find good or uncrowded waves then so be it. It's all part of the journey. Just enjoy.

Masta,
Here's a tease to encourage you to sign up ... 4m+ NE/E and "stacked to the horizon". Only $50 for a year, gets you access to all past and current reports, AND gives Booya and CJ financial support. Win-win.

Its been $50 since the first year it became a fee access only site.

On second thoughts...
