i'd help u out but i dunno where it is.

geez. just surf the beachbreaks on the open stretch. every wave is yours, no need to worry about running over 300 people. but it gets lonely and u got no one to show off to.

i was wondering if anyones surfed that island thingee you can see from top of point danger. if you are looking towards south-east, there's a small island. i'd say it'd be pretty good. any thoughts?

nar man the island of fingel isent worth the padle. good if u like to go for a dive and check out some pretty good marine life but otherwise its just a break on sharp rocks that just cloeses out. which i have learnt the leson not to surf on. but fingal sheds man, nice wedge and not much crowd.

as for knights. the place i think u might be thinking off is knights beach SA. its a rock wall with a phat wedge. as for a knights down a kingy i dont know. by the way, cudgen reef the other day so breaking so good. havent surfed it good is so long. every time im down there, the sand shorey is usualy cranking over it anyone get a chance to get down on sat/sunday? later

If you're talking about Knights in SA, it's a very well known spot that is overcrowded by bodyboarders - standups used to dominate the place through the 80's and 90's, but not many bother anymore as it's such a tight take-off zone and there's usually 20 or more lids battling for position. It's an insane wave when it's on - a thick rebounding lefthand peak that can deliver some of the most photogenic waves around. It can also break your neck ;)

Never heard of a Knights near Kingscliffe either, but regarding that island off Fingal, its Cook Island and I have surfed it as well. Yewww! is on the mark, it closes out in a real critical position, about halfway down the line over a large rock. The takeoff is okay, as it sucks out along the rocky wall (at the ocean end of the island), but the closeout rock appears pretty much after one or two turns. Heaps of sea life under your feet while your sitting out there (turtles, rays etc). The line up looks awesome from Fingal in a big clean SE swell - after years of wondering what its like we took an inflatable out (mission from Fingal!) - but the wave itself aint great.

If you want to surf a quality offshore island, try Mudjimba Island or watch it in an old surf movie, Kongs Island (and Mad Wax while you're at it!)

shaun, i didnt give the spot away even if it was secerate which it deffinatly isent. plus stand ups dont really surf it because u get alot of fin drag. so im doubting that next time i go down the crowds would have dubbled.
