wats with tha red boat?

Hey guys i always see this big red boat out in tha ocean most weekends i got told that it pumps sand but wats tha purpose of that? You always see it around debar-snaper way but last weekend i saw it when i was at palm beach. Can anyone explain me why this big red boat pumps sand for i'v always wanted to know.

yeah its dredges the sand out of bars to make its easer for boats to get in. you probably saw it around palmy/currumbin because of all the contrevescy going on about the currumbin mouth. they need to get rid of some of the sand there.
