Yeah, it's been a really tricky system NOTG. Wish the outlook was better for tomorrow (I got two new boards that need to be ridden, dammit!), but late Wed/Thurs is looking pretty reasonable at this stage.

Yeah Ron, i reckon we could be in for a cracker!!! Mates and I have got bets on what the cyclone count will be this year.. I'm picking 4 so hope I either win it or am knocked out in early march and the count keeps going higher.

im definetly hitting up strad tommorow. Couldnt be bothered it its going to be onshore, points and dbah will be packed. Gonna be low-tide at about 3:30am so if ur in the water real early im guessing it will be heavy.

Straddie will be as packed as anywhere. It will be ultra crowded.

well wasnt that a let down. checked out burlz point and a local beachy. Was about 2ft max and not barreling, point was packed for its size. Would of been fun on a stick though

2ft max and not barrelling? You mustn't have waited around long. Set waves are still 3-4' at Miami (overhead), and in stark contrast to yesterday there's actually some kegs out the back (looks like the sand's shifted around a lot). Certainly a long way from epic, but plenty of fun waves if you're keen.

I was expecting you to write a message here ben :D After checking out the point I looked at a few guys at a beachy but they were just padeling around. I almost went out (now that I think of it I should of anyway doh') but it seemed very small and not fun at all on a lid, the surfboard was at home and I didnt have time to drive everywhere.
Maybe im just getting slack, is it too much to ask for 6ft perfect peaks lining up the coast?

At this time of the year - yes, you're asking for much more than the Qld coast normally delivers. I guarantee you'll be cursing in two weeks time if we go through another spell of tiny waves and NE'ers.
As far as size is concerned, I had a 5min window where the drizzle cleared, so I quickly took a couple of shots (although photography conditions were shocking). Four or five sets came through in the five minutes I was there, and this wave is about average. One set came through that was a touch bigger, but no-one caught it (as it was, there were only 7 guys out, and most of them couldn't surf very well).

Farrk tommorow should be off the hook. Will it stick around?
