whats with these swimming beaches? how do they keep such straight small clean swell perfect for swimming? is it just the way the beach is facing? and sunny coast shoreys are real big/heavy.. i fucked up my spine trying to bodysurf it.. are they all related to seabed level? from very deep water to shallow?

not quite sure on that one. but if u look at noosa, it faces in a differant direction then the rest of the sunnie beaches and it also has the point break that runs along the front of it. but yeah id say it would have something to do with direction. a few people have still drowned at noosa though havent they? dont know how. its just like swimming in a pool.

That beach pretty much faces North dude. And it's totally protected by the headland. The council are considering an artificial reef to try and hold the sand on the beach. A few groups are divided on that one. There are arguments for both sides.
